Birthday Monkey ATC

I was playing around this weekend with some paper piecing and decided to make something on a smaller scale than a regular card, so I made an ATC for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challnege...

Isn't he cute :)  I paper pieced him with some papers from Kaiser Craft and Lawn Fawn and added some Stickles to the cupcake for a sprinkled icing effect.  The sky is made from washi tape then run through my cuttlebug to cut out some cloud shapes.  Super cute!

Thanks for stopping by!

B&W Happiness

This week's challenge over at MarkerPop is Black and White/Sepia.  When I saw the theme, I wasn't too excited.  I've never colored just black and white or sepia and it was never really something I wanted to do, but I was up for the challenge.  I stamped some images, grabbed my Copics and plopped in front of the TV.  I colored some with my C Copics and some with my Ws ending up with 4 images that I was pretty happy with!

When it came time to putting the card together, I decided to use the sketch from this month's Some Odd Girl Challenge.  But as I was putting it all together, I realized my images were too large for the sketch, so I printed out a digi image of Dancin' Mae and sized her so she'd fit just right :)

And here she is!

And she does make me happy :D  I love the image.  I love how the B&W looks.  I love the background paper.  It all just makes me happy.  Here's a close up of Miss Mae in all of her glory -

And the challenges she'll be playing in -

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!!

Up, Up, and Away

I've seen a lot of hot air balloons up in the sky lately and that made me want to make a card with some as well :)

I used the colors from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge and the 'strips' from CAS-ual Fridays' challenge .  The yellow is kind of a mustardy yellow on its own, but paired with the blues, it takes on more of a green hue.  :(

I kept the inside fairly simple, mimicking the front but not embossing the light blue or coloring the center panel (giving room for a message!).

Swiss Pixies Frame Card

Today I wanted to play with one of my Swiss Pixies stamps from CC Designs.  I love coloring them in!

I stamped Gretel on some white card stock and colored her in with Copics.  I based the colors of her outfit based on a piece of paper I wanted to use for the frame from Basic Grey's PB&J paper pad, but when I cut the frame from the paper, I just wasn't happy with it, so I found another piece from the same collection and was much happier with it.

I'm entering this into the latest All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.and MarkerPop's Fur/Hair coloring challenge:

Gorjuss Hello

I got home from work today and decided to put that watercolor background from yesterday to use for the Playdate Cafe.  I had a plan but once I got started, I changed my mind :)  I opted to water color with Distress Inks and came up with this lovely:

I used the colors from the PDC cchallenge -

And since I used such dark card stock, I actually took the time to do the inside (I often neglect to do this then when I go to use it, I always wish I had the inside done!).
