Lime Splashed Thanks

I've been super busy around the house lately (cleaning things up and reorganizing... fun times!) so I've been out of my crafts space for far too long.  I decided I was due some real fun so took a break from all of the house work to play along with a couple challenges.

Here's the card I came up with:

Seems pretty simple, right?  It took FOREVER because I had problems with the white chevron piece.  I don't know what it was, but I just couldn't get the image stamped and embossed to my liking.  I think I repeated it five times before I finally got this one.  The black card base is the same image stamped then embossed with clear embossing powder to give a little pop to the background with out being overwhelming.

And a view of the inside:

The challenges I'm playing along with are:

Well I guess I've procrastinated long enough... back to the grind!

Thanks for stopping by,

Dancin' Mae Canvas

It's been a long week, but I wanted to find some time to get to my craft room and little by little I did!!  I  bought a 6x6 canvas at my local scrapbook store a few weeks back and decided it was time to use it.  I printed out a Dancin' Mae image from Some Odd Girl and let the creative juices flow!  I got off to a good start with deciding what colors to color her in with - something bright to go with MarkerPop's Bright Colors Challenge - and I knew I wanted to use the sketch from this month's SOG challenge, but then I got stumped.  So... I left my craft space and came back to it a couple times before finally figuring it all out tonight.  Whew!!

So without further adieu, here is my Dancin' Mae Canvas:

It's a little faint, but I used a stencil on the top portion and some glitter paint to give the canvas a little texture.  The bottom is a solid coat of the glitter paint.

I used the great tutorial from the Odd Girl herself to color the red hair (I love the new format she has for the tutorials - super easy to print and keep stashed with my copics where it will get used!).

I wanted a good saying so I searched the web until I found this one and printed it on a piece of cardstock:

I'm not much of a dancer, but I can definitely be a little silly at times so maybe this will inspire me to dance a little more ;)

And here are the challenges I'm entering into with this -

I enjoyed breaking out of the mold and doing something on the canvas instead of a card... I hope you liked it too.
