Fall Project on a Snowy Day

Happy Saturday!  What is with the weather?!?! I love this time of year with all the colors of the changing leaves, so why is it when I look out my front door, I see this!!

Despite the winter weather, I have a little fall project to share.  I made some treat bags for my coworkers (I'm told I missed my calling as an teacher!)

I found some white paper bags and stamped each name on the bag with versamark then embossed it in orange.  Then I stamped the spider and web from the {stamps} of life's webs4us.  I didn't like the look of just the outlined letter with the web showing throw so I colored in all of the letters.  (sorry the pics are a little dark)

After all of the bags were filled I punch two hols with my crop-a-dile then tied it all shut with a twine bow of charcoal and mandarin twine.

This little project will be part of the following challenges:

Fingers crossed that this winter weather goes away until winter is officially here!!

Happy Birthday, Man!

This week, I'm playing along with YCU's Masculine Card Challenge.  I decided to make a set because I was using some Mister Huey's color mists and the cards were made pretty quickly.

I sprayed the color mists onto white card stock.  Added the black washi tape, a button tied on with twine, and embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment.  Then matted it on a black card base... quick and easy!

Here are the individual cards -

Bluegrass
Orchard

Bonny Blue
Clover

Elebration - Paper Pieced and Colored

What a week!!  My birthday was this past Monday, so the hubby and I took a long weekend to have a mini vacation.  It was rainy for most of the trip so we didn't get much time to do the hiking we planned, but it was great to get away for a few days.  So now we're home and I'm getting back into the swing of things (slowly since I don't go back to work until Saturday).

This weeks challenge at iCopic is Baby.  I don't make a lot of baby cards so I thought I'd play along.  I used the baby theme, combined it with the sketch at CPS and was off.  Once I settled on a stamp to use, I couldn't decide if I wanted to color it or paper piece it so I made two cards - one each way.  Here they are -

I think the stamp is super cute.  Here's a close up of the two images -

Boo To You!

I spent the last couple of days with my mom doing a shop hop of 13 local scrapbook stores.  It was such a blast and I bought a TON of stuff (more on all the fun to come!).  One thing I grabbed while out was this adorable set of brads:

As soon as I saw them on the shelf, I know I had to have them.  Once I sifted through all of my purchases and found the brads I got to work.  Using 5 of the 6 Wonky Rectangle dies, I cut all of my pieces from 5 different colors of card stock.  I inked the edges of all of the colored and white card stock with Black Soot Distress Ink.  For the black pieces, I ran a white Galaxy Marker around the edge.  Finally, I put everything together to make these three cards:

I also decorated the inside with some quick stamping.  The colored paper and ink color of the ghost match the card stock on the front of the card.

I think they turned out super cute so they'll be playing along with:
