One for Mom

I had off work today.  The end of a long week - working both last weekend and the holiday -  and the start of what I hope to be a long vacation (why do the days fly by so fast when I'm not at work??).  I got an email from my mom today who asked why there was no blog entry today since I was home ALL day.  So after doing some laundry, grocery shopping, and just plain crashing on the couch, I finally made it to my craft space and thought I'd do one just for my mom today :-)

I decided to use one of my new Gorjuss stamps - My Own Universe and follow some guidlines set up by three challenges the card will be entered in:

1. Lawnscaping Challenge #13 - Don't forget the inside
2. iCopic Challenge #37 - Red, white, and blue
3. CPS #225 sketch

Here's the final product -

I started by coloring using Copic markers:

Ciao markers used were 0, YR00, and E37
I filled her crown in with Liquid Pearls and added some Diamond Stickles to the stars.  I rounded the corners of all of my papers.  I layered the image on a piece of Stampin' Up! Real Red Designer Pattern Paper and layered that onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I distressed with the Tim Holtz/Tonic Paper Distresser.  I wrapped a piece of Maraschino baker's twine from the Twinery around that piece before added the piece with the image on dimensionals.  That was all layered on two pieces of Tempting Turquoise Designer Pattern Paper, which were adhered to the Real Red card base.

Unforgotten Inside

For the inside of the card, I stamped the image off the bottom right corner of the white card stock in Real Red, then layered it on the same papers I used for the card front.  It keeps the inside flat and simple enough that when a sentiment gets added, it won't get lost.
