Watercolor fun with Pretty Phrases

I was cleaning up my desk yesterday, found my watercolors and decided I had to use them.  I pulled out a much underused sentiment set and white embossed each of the sentiments onto watercolor paper.  In the end, I ended up with a set of 5 cards.  Pretty quick and simple!

I used the Paper Smooches Designer Draft this week for the card layouts:

Here they are as a the set:

And here is each card:

Playing with Prima Dolls

I've used Prima Doll stamps before (see my art journal page here), so when my mom wanted to take a class with them at Joys of Life Scrapbooking, who was I to say no.  :)  We went and made five tags which reminded me of how much I love these stamps.  I picked up a new one and this weekend got to work.  Instead of paper piecing like we did a lot of in the class, I opted to do some water coloring.

I love how she turned out!  Here's a close up:

I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week.

Watercolored Mae

Today, I put away the Copics and pulled out my new Distress Markers to play along with some challenges.  I'm really liking the new markers ;)  Here's my card:

And a close-up of the watercoloring:

It's really hard to see in the pics, but I added some glitter to the yellow with a Spica pen for a littler shimmer.

This card is for:

Gorjuss Hello

I got home from work today and decided to put that watercolor background from yesterday to use for the Playdate Cafe.  I had a plan but once I got started, I changed my mind :)  I opted to water color with Distress Inks and came up with this lovely:

I used the colors from the PDC cchallenge -

And since I used such dark card stock, I actually took the time to do the inside (I often neglect to do this then when I go to use it, I always wish I had the inside done!).
