Copics in Storage

This week, I challenged myself to color images without using my copics.  I love coloring my stamps from Some Odd Girl with those magical markers, so I thought I'd color Gwen in using my Prismacolors...

The card is based on this weeks CPS sketch:

I flipped it 180 degrees and made it a trifold card.  The front image on the scalloped oval flips up to reveal the inside fold and small sentiment...

Then that panel folds down to reveal where a written message would be...

And now one for Grandma

I spent most of the day with my mom yesterday and one of our tasks was to get crafty.  While she was busy working on her mother-in-laws birthday cards, I was busy working on a card for my grandmother.  She's taking the plunge... she's moving to Florida this month.

My mom bought some fabric from one of our local scrapbook shops - Farmhouse Memories (you can see the whole fabric by visiting their blog here) - where we had taken a class on how to make cards with fabric.  Very fun technique.  So using the fabric my mom had all ready for this card, here's what I came up with -

We were working at her place, so I didn't have my usual supplies near by, but that was okay with me because I got to unwrap her Grand Calibur by Spellbinders!!  I used the Labels One Grand Nestibilites to create the shaped card.  I made a frame using the smallest die inside the third smallest die.  I attached some sand paper that she dug out for me at the bottom of the scene then attached the frame on dimensionals.  I also cut out the hats from another piece of the fabric and popped those up for a little dimension.

Once the outside was done, I moved onto the inside (still being inspired by Lawnscaping Challenge #13 - Don't Forget the Inside) -

I cut the girl out from another piece of fabric, added some more sandpaper, and a sentiment that was stamped and then cut out with the Spellbinders Fancy Tags (the stamp set is made to coordinate with these tags, but I can't remember who makes them right now).
