Back in action

I can't believe it's been almost two years since my last post!!  Time just flies!  When last I posted, I was mostly doing cards, but now, with a toddler, I've gotten back into scrapbooking - traditional and pocket pages. Occasionally, I sneak in time to work on other projects, but my goal is to keep current with her scrapbook.  Which is why I like the new sketch challenges from Freckled Fawn.

I had the perfect picture in mind and started gathering supplies. Here's how it all came together:

I love how it all came together and love the inspiration from Freckled Fawn to keep me creative!

Mosaics

It's been a few weeks because someone (mom ;)) has made me go to a couple crops in the last few weeks.  I got a ton of layouts done and some cards, but have been beat when I get home.  This weekend, I worked on a mosaic and needed to finish it up when I got up, so I did that today and thought I'd share it.

This is from a trip we took in 2008 to Longwood Gardens.  The paper pieces are what I worked on today.  I cut them out using my Silhouette to fit the remaining spaces.

Scrapbooking with a Sketch

Two posts today!!  This is the second, guess I had a lot of crafty time today ;-)

I actually started scrapbooking before I started card making and for whatever reason (probably because I really don't take a lot of pictures), I prefer card making.  I've been pushing myself to do a little more scrapbooking and started a few months ago, telling myself I was going to put together a scrapbook as a friend's Christmas present.  I gave myself PLENTY of time because I knew I'd loose the will to do it as time went on.  I enjoyed making the cards for the last two posts (here and here) using the sketch from Hero Arts Sketch Challenge over at Lily Pad, that I decided to make a scrapbook page with it.  Here's the sketch:

I love how it turned out and it gives me a little more motivation to get her book done!!
