Happy Birthday, Mom!

Friday was my mom's birthday and I created this little card for her:

The purple background is a print from playing with my gelli plate.  I did a slight ombre on some glossy cardstock with alcohol ink and stamped the image onto that.  Matted the imaged and added some dazzle border stickers.

For the inside, I used a strip of that same paper with one of the smaller dazzle strips.  Stamped the image and sentiment in a matching ink.

Dazzling Aqua

I decided to play along with this weeks iCopic challenge kind of at the last minute.  The challenge this week is to use the BG family.  It's not one that I usually gravitate towards so I wasn't super inspired at the beginning of the week.  But today that changed!  I grabbed my image, colored away, and ended up with this little cutie:

I used some Dazzle stickers (as I challenged myself to this week!) and kept it pretty simple.  Still need to practice with those BGs and Rs.

Next week, my challenge is to use some washi tape.  i have a nice little stash but I never seem to use it.

Busy, but Dazzling

I've been kept pretty busy this past week.  Once my work week was over, I spent a few days with my mom taking some classes at the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking Convention.  We took SIX classes and spent lots of time walking the show room and spending lots of money on new toys :-D  I didn't have much time to make my own creations, but here are the cards we made with the Dazzling Cards kit taught by Boxer:

Wee Memories #56 and Lily Pad Embossing Challenges

Today I created a card that can be used in two challenges - Wee Memories #56 and Lily Pad Cards Embossing Challenge.  I've been dying to try the dry embossed frame that I saw on Kristina Werner's Make a Card Monday video and finally had a reason to do it!!  It turned out much better than I expected.  I added some heat embossing and a Dazzles stacked rose for the final card:
