You're not old...

I always have problems trying to make a masculine card, so this year for my dad's birthday card, I found a 6x6 pad of paper by Authentique that was masculine and stuck to those colors.  I kept the lay out really simple and I think I kept it pretty masculine.

I used a car outline sticker from Elizabeth Craft Designs and paper pieced it onto blue card stock.  I used my wink of stella and wink of luna pens to color in some accents.  Then I matted it all on paper from that pad and stamped the sentiment with Clark's ABCs from Lawn Fawn.

For the inside, I used some scraps from the paper pad to add a little interest and finished the saying with the same alphabet stamp.  Clean, simple, and masculine :)

I'm playing along with Inspiration Destination's Anything Goes challenge this week.

Fall is in the Air with My Whimsical Little World

Today I'm sharing the newest release from My Whimsical Little World.  Great for the fall!

First up, a cute little pilgrim boy:

For this card, I colored the image with my Copics, masked it the colored the background with distress inks after die cutting it.  Before I peeled off the mask, I stamped on the sky to add a little texture.  Once my image circle was complete, I matted it on some autumn-y paper.  It was still missing something though.  I found the pumpkin puffy sticker in one of my recent Freckled Fawn kits and thought it was perfect for this guy.  I ruffled up some washi tape and added the sticker to finish it off.

Next up, something for all of the football fans out there...In the Air:

To be honest, I was a little stumped with the football digi at first.  I don't follow football at. all.  But we have a little game going on at work so I started brainstorming and landed on turning it into a Super Bowl invite.  I colored the football and cloud with my Copics again, masked it off and distress inked the background.  The center piece is matted on the base which is edged with washi tape (same tape, I used for the flower in the first card, just layered on top of itself to make the lines cross themselves).  I added embellishments out of my Freckled Fawn kits again.  Super happy with how this one turned out :D

So you've seen what I've done with these beauties, be sure to check out some of the other DT members to see their takes on the latest release.

After you've seen what these amazing ladies are up to, stop by the MWLW Facebook Page.  There's a sketch challenge going on through November 4th that you should definitely play along with!

Life is like a camera.

I found this quote awhile back that I really like somewhere and when I was digging through my stash, I found these acrylic/transparent camera and thought, they must go together on an art journal page!  So here it is...

I used a black gelato to color some white gesso to get the grey background.  Then I used some matte black embossing paste with a stencil for the chevrons.  All of the letters are rub ons that I had in my stash except for the word camera, they're foam thickets.  I added some strips of Tim Holtz Negative Strip and finished it all off with the cameras that caused the inspiration.

I wanted to tie the black letters in a little more with the rest, so I used a white paint pen to add some highlights.

And don't forget, there's a few days left to play along with the Anything Goes Challenge at Inspiration Destination - you could win two digistamps from My Whimsical Little World :D

Boo!

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post.... time just flies by!!  Today I'm sharing a little Halloween card I made while playing with my latest Freckled Fawn kit:

When I saw the frames in the kit, I immediately though window card.  I found a die that was close enough in size and got to work.  I don't do a ton of Halloween cards, so I couldn't decide what to use as a background, but while sifting through all of my paper, I found this great bat/spider web paper that was perfect!  I loved the chipboard letters for this and inked around the edges with a black marker so the brown chipboard color wasn't showing through, which made them pop a little more (and yes, technically, my exclamation point is the letter L with a dot ;)).  I finished it off by added some glitter epoxy stickers.

For the inside, I used the bat stamp from this month's kit and embossed it with some black glitter powder.  I used a stamp from an older kit to contain the bats - wouldn't want them jumping off the page at ya ;) - and added a little sentiment.

I'm entering this into the Anything Goes challenge going on at Inspiration Destination this week - new challenge blog and this is challenge #3! This week is sponsored by My Whimsical Little World.  You've seen some of my work with these cute digi stamps and now you have the chance to win two in the challenge this week, so go check it out!

That's all for today!
