SOG Red Hair Sketch

About two weeks or so ago, Kristy, posted a color tutorial for red hair Copic coloring over at the Odd Girl (you can see the amazing tutorial here).  I love the format that it's in - it's easy to follow and has great pictures.  I printed a copy to keep with my Copics and have been itching to give it a go.  Today I finally got my chance!

I decided to use Kaylee from the Nutsy Kaylee set.  I love her little pose and thought this would be a good start for red hair.  Here she is...

I'm pretty happy with how her hair turned out. Here's a little close up...

The background is made up of washi tape that I found at Target (4 rolls of tape for $4!!).  They were just sitting in the office supply aisle where I was just passing through to get somewhere else... I had to have them - in red, green and blue! :)

Happy Birthday Crow

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for my sister-in-law's upcoming birthday that I also am entering in the following challenges:

My sister-in-law researches crows, so I thought it would be fun to color in the little peep as a crow, which also brought in a little more of the gray color from PDC's color palette.  I kept the inside simple by adding a sentiment and stamping the bird a few times along the bottom:
